This year’s first meeting of the Organising Committee of Russian Healthcare Week 2026 took place at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event was moderated by Maxim Fateev, General Director at EXPOCENTRE. Its participants summed up the results of the previous edition of the Week and discussed in detail the draft programme of events for 2026.

Vladislav Davankov, Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma, became the Chair at the Organising Committee of Russian Healthcare Week in 2026. In his address to the meeting’s participants, Vladislav Davankov thanked his colleagues for their successful collaboration and outlined the key tasks for the current cycle. The Chair at the Organising Committee stressed the importance of maintaining the broad international presence at the Week, noting that one should not reject the proposals of colleagues from other countries, since the mutual exchange of experience is extremely useful for the development of the industry. As a priority, Mr. Davankov suggested continuing to pay close state attention to supporting young professionals, highlighting the need to raise this issue to the level of national interests. The new chair promised to officially forward his detailed proposals on events in the coming days.

In his speech, Sergey Katyrin, President at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stressed that Russian Healthcare Week promotes direct professional dialogue between business, science, government, practitioners and manufacturers. In his opinion, such a dialogue is necessary for the development of Russian medicine, the medical industry, and advanced healthcare technologies.

Sergey Katyrin emphasized that the Week is a real programme of action for its participants, who include deputies of the Russian State Duma, the government, relevant ministries and departments. The committees and councils of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, which actively participate in the industry related discussions, develop their work plans based on the results of the Week and determine a list of issues to be worked on jointly with the executive branch, the State Duma and the Federation Council. He added that health protection is a topic that attracts enormous attention from the entire population of the country, and therefore the project is of consistently high interest from both government agencies and citizens. He also stressed that in the Year of the Unity of the Peoples of Russia, the unifying social role of healthcare, including access to medical care, training, rehabilitation, prevention and comprehensive support for medical workers, is of particular importance in the Week’s programme.

During the ceremonial part of the event, Sergey Katyrin presented Certificates of Honor from the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry to the co-chairs of the 2025 Organising Committee for their personal contribution to the development of convention and exhibition activities and long-term support of the Week. The awards were presented to Yaroslav Nilov, Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Labour, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, and Sergey Leonov, Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Health Protection.

Yaroslav Nilov highly appreciated the results of the Week that had taken place last December and suggested transferring the best practices to future events, diluting the programme with new non-standard elements to attract the attention of a wider audience. The parliamentarian submitted a number of initiatives for discussion by the Organising Committee. In particular, he proposed to provide interactive express health research zones right on the exhibition floor to increase the personal interest of common visitors: vision testing, blood pressure measurement, and passing basic rapid tests, the results of which people can share on social networks.

Speaking about some relevant important topics that should be included in the conference programme, Yaroslav Nilov highlighted the popularization of donation with the delivery of tests and prompt entry into the register of donors directly at the venue. The parliamentarian also suggested focusing on advanced rehabilitation methods, issues of reproductive technologies involving the best practices of special health resorts, advanced methods of early care, work with autism spectrum disorders, and much more.
