Chief physicians discuss rehabilitation
This year, the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia organises the First Russian School for Chief Medical Rehabilitation Physicians within Russian Healthcare Week with the support of the Russian State Duma Committee on Health Protection, the Russian State Duma Committee on Labor, Social Policy and Veterans' Affairs, and EXPOCENTRE.
Veronika Skvortsova, Head at the Federal Medical-Biological Agency of Russia, addressed the participants online with a welcoming speech.
The participants of the plenary session included Badma Bashankayev, First Deputy Chair at the Russian State Duma Committee on Health Protection, Mikhail Kizeev, Member of the Russian State Duma Committee on Health Protection, Sergey Vylegzhanin, Deputy Chair for the Medical Block of the Defenders of the Fatherland State Fund, and Galina Ivanova, Chief Freelance Specialist for Medical Rehabilitation of the Russian Ministry of Health.
The purpose of the First Russian School for Chief Medical Rehabilitation Physicians was to discuss a wide range of issues related to the organisation of medical rehabilitation care for patients with impaired functions, structures and disabilities as a result of diseases and injuries of the central nervous system, musculoskeletal system and peripheral nervous system, cardio-respiratory system, oncological diseases; the organisation of prosthetics issues during amputations; the organisation of the work of institutions of social rehabilitation and career guidance; the specifics of socio-cultural rehabilitation activities; and involvement in adaptive physical education and adaptive sports.
In the course of the school's work, the participants discussed the regulation issues of the process of organising medical and comprehensive rehabilitation, the specifics of organisational models of medical and comprehensive rehabilitation, the specifics of the work of resorts in medical rehabilitation and treatment, the organisation of comprehensive rehabilitation, and much more. One of the main topics was the training and accreditation of personnel in medical rehabilitation and some areas of comprehensive rehabilitation.
In his speech, addressing the participants, Badma Bashankayev said, “I think it is not the administrative issues that have brought you here today, but a sincere desire to help people, because rehabilitation, as we have already heard, is a new direction in which not everything is clear yet. Therefore, it is very important today not to be shy, to ask questions to experts, and to have discussions.”
Russia’s leading experts told the participants about this new direction in medicine.
