Medics take care of public health
The conference programme of Russian Health Care Week 2021 included a number of events that attracted great interest from medical professionals.

Owners and managers of medical organisations, for whom this conference was intended, considered the issues of health care financing, foreign experience, got acquainted with trends and innovations that have the potential to change the approach to healthcare globally.
The Preventive Continuum Forum on Public Health Promotion, Medical Prevention, Dispensary Care for Patients with Chronic Non-Communicable Diseases and Vaccination against New Coronavirus Infection was organised by the National Medical Research Centre for Therapy and Preventive Medicine of the Russian Ministry of Health Care with support from the Russian Society for the Prevention of Non-Communicable Diseases.
Oksana Drapkina, Director of the National Research Centre for Therapy and Preventive Medicine, Chief Freelance Specialist in Therapy and General Medical Practice of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, addressed the participants with a welcoming speech.
The topics of the forum were public health promotion, topical issues of medical prevention in the context of the pandemic, and vaccination. For those who have had a new coronavirus infection, a special programme of in-depth medical check-ups has been set up. First of all, medics have analysed all available information on Covid-19 and identified symptoms, conditions and diseases that often occur in the so-called post-pandemic period. It is on the basis of this data, in order to identify the effects of the disease as quickly as possible, that the new programme has been drawn up.
The Congress on Health Resort Industry as Part of the Russian Health Care System was dedicated to the health resort treatment and prospects for the industry development in Russia.
The organiser, the National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Health Resort Therapy of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, is the country's leading medical research centre in the field of health resort development. The health resort industry is one of the key links in the national health care, supporting the principle of staged medical care, and Russian resorts have been and remain an integral part of the nation's comprehensive health care system.
In July 2021, the centre celebrated its 100th anniversary. The conference "Medical rehabilitation and sanatorium treatment after new coronavirus infection: scientific achievements and innovations" was dedicated to this date. Specialists of the National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Health Resort Therapy told about innovative technologies in medical rehabilitation and spa treatment of patients who have undergone Covid-19. They presented a comprehensive recovery programme after a new coronavirus infection. They talked about the treatment of specific complications after Covid-19.
