Forum of the Health Care Leadership of Moscow started
Forum of the Health Care Leadership of Moscow has opened within the Russian Health Care Week 2020 online programme. The Forum is organised by the Moscow City Department of Health Care, the Research Institute of Health Care and Medical Management. The partners of the Forum are the Russian Ministry of Health Care, Russian Academy of Science, Semashko Medical Research Center for Public Health, Roscongress, Content Fund, Central Research Institute of Health Care Organisation and IT Development, supported by EXPOCENTRE AO.
The key topics of the Forum are successful management practices, reorganisation of specialised medical care services, implementation of innovative technologies, as well as implementation of national projects and regional programmes in the pandemic period. The agenda of the event covers all areas of Moscow medicine, including the development of human resources potential, research and innovation activities of the capital's healthcare system.
The Forum sessions include presentations on global best practices in health system transformation in the context of the pandemic, highlighting modern management technologies to improve the efficiency of health systems.
Elena Aksenova, Doctor of Economics, Professor, Director of the Research Institute of Health Care and Medical Management of the Moscow City Department of Health Care, opening the plenary session, touched upon the issue of the capital's health care position in the world ratings. "If we look at the life safety rating, Moscow shows a very good result in terms of healthcare safety and is on a par with Barcelona, Rome and Hong Kong," emphasised Elena.
Melita Vuinovich, Special Representative of the World Health Organisation (WHO) in Russia, in her report expressed fears of the emergence of digital inequality among patients and stressed the need to maintain a dual system of patient access to healthcare services, not only through digital technologies, but also without them.
Natalya Polushkina, Vice-President of Skolkovo, Director of the Biomedical Cluster, spoke about the Smart Clinic technology and its potential in addressing global challenges in the healthcare system.
The plenary session was followed by speeches of Renaud Seligmann, World Bank’s Country Director for the Russian Federation, Nelly Naigovzina, Deputy Head of the Analytical Centre under the Government of the Russian Federation, Professor, Head of the Department of Public Health and Healthcare at the Evdokimov State University of Medicine and Dentistry, Ramil Khabriev, Chief Research Officer at the Semashko Medical Research Center for Public Health, and other industry experts.
The plenary session was followed by thematic sessions on successful practices, best management practices and other pressing issues in the development and improvement of the healthcare system.
The Forum will continue its work on December 11.
