12th Russian Assembly of Professionals in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industries
The 12th Russian Assembly of Professionals in the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industries was held within the online programme of Russian Health Care Week.
The assembly was organised by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, the Rosmedprom Association, the OPORA RUSSIA Non-Government Association, Business Russia – the Russian Public Organisation, the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, with support from the Russian Ministry of Health Care, the Russian Ministry of Education and Science, the Federal Service for Surveillance in Healthcare (Roszdravnadzor), the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Board of the Russian Defense Industry Commission, and EXPOCENTRE AO.
This year, the assembly is focused on the issues of providing the health care system with breakthrough drug therapy and innovative products for diagnostics and treatment of diseases as part of the Health Care National Project, combating the spread of Covid-19, as well as increasing the role of research centers of the Russian Ministry of Health Care and the Russian Academy of Sciences in creating modern medicines and medical products. The event was moderated by President of Rosmedprom Yury Kalinin.
President of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Sergey Katyrin addressed the event participants. In his speech, he emphasized the achievements of the pharmaceutical industry enterprises in cooperation with the Industry Development Fund. "Pharmaceutical manufacturers managed to establish working relations with the Industry Development Fund, which allocated 33 billion rubles for 90 companies from 32 regions. The funds made it possible to manufacture new products, expand the range of products, and increase production volumes.”
Russian First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Sergey Tsyb welcomed the participants and wished them every success and fruitful work. Deputy of the Russian State Duma Aleksandr Petrov, Deputy Chairman of the Board of the Russian Defense Industry Commission Oleg Bochkarev, and General Director of the Association of Russian Pharmaceutical Manufacturers Viktor Dmitriev also addressed the audience.
Director of the Department of Pharmaceutical and Medical Industries of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade Aleksey Alekhin and Chairman of the Board of the Medical Equipment Consortium Ivan Ozhgikhin devoted their reports to a development strategy of the Russian pharmaceutical and medical industries.
Russian Minister of Health Care Mikhail Murashko talked about the steps taken by the government to stabilize the situation with the prices of medicines during the pandemic, and the measures adopted to accelerate the launch of a number of medicines on the market. "Laboratories had to work in several shifts to make all necessary tests and quickly bring pharmaceuticals to the market", emphasized Mr. Murashko.
Heads of professional unions and associations, representatives of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, research centers, manufacturers of medical products, and different experts also reported on the current state of the pharmaceutical and medical industries.
