InclusionExpo Forum considered social inclusion of people with disabilities

Expocentre hosted the InclusionExpo. Rehabilitation. Accessible Environment. Assistive Technologies International Forum within Russian Health Care Week 2019. The Forum is organised by the Russian Ministry of Health Care and Expocentre AO as part of implementation of Heath Care, Demography, and Decade of Childhood national projects.

 

The Forum participants discussed key issues of the government policy, social and health care of disabled people. For the first time, the current problems of children with disabilities were considered at such a high expert level.

The Forum opened with a plenary meeting moderated by the organising committee chairperson, the head of the “Healthy Child” working group at the Russian Government’s Coordination Council for the Russian Decade of Childhood, and chief free-lance specialist of the Russian Health Care Ministry in the field of children’s rehabilitation Tatiana Batysheva. “Our platform is designed to discuss the most relevant issues. Concerned people were brought together to speak up and be heard. In the Forum resolution we will reflect our feelings, ideas, emotions, and the main thing, the ways to solve painful problems,” the organising committee chairperson set the Forum’s aim.

The meeting participants discussed different aspects of social inclusion of people with disabilities. Chairperson of the Board of the Russian Children in Need Fund, head of working group on Social Protection of Children with Disabilities and Children with Special Needs and their Inclusion in Modern Society Marina Gordeyeva told about a set of government measures for development of various kinds of assistance and adaptation of disabled children.

Deputy Chairperson of the Commission on Social Support for Individuals and Quality of Life of the Russian Civic Chamber Ekaterina Kurbangaleeva touched on the issues of implementation of the Accessible Environment project. Vice Rector of the Russian State Social University Albina Bikbulatova told about some progress in organisation of education of disabled children. Presidium Chairperson of the Voluntary Union for Physical Culture, Merited Master of Sports of Russia Irina Slutskaya presented the Dobropoyezd campaign aimed to improve living conditions of people with physical and intellectual disabilities. First Deputy Chairperson of the Russian Society of Disabled Persons Flyur Nurlygayanov touched on the topic of sport and tourism for disabled people.

The Forum also included sections on Prevention of Child Disability Exemplified by North Caucasian Federal District, Improving Conditions for Production of Rehabilitation Equipment and Providing Disabled People with Them, Vocational Guidance and Employment of Disabled People, and Situational Assistance and Assistive Technologies in Churches.

The Forum also featured a joint meeting of working groups at the Russian Government’s Coordination Council for the Russian Decade of Childhood and the Russian Conference on Development of Accessible Tourism, and the Forum on unlimited possibilities “My success story”.

The Forum runs under the auspices of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
