Post Show Report Russian Health Care Week 2018
The Russian Health Care Week is the largest health care project in Russia, which unites a series of international trade shows as well as congresses, forums, conferences, etc. Every year, its participants showcase and discuss the most relevant trends in Russian and global health care industry. It is included in the annual list of events supported by the Russian Ministry of Health Care.
Russian Health Care Week 2019 will run at Expocentre Fairgrounds on 2–6 December 2019.

Group stands of manufacturers and service providers from the Republic of Crimea, Chechen Republic, Altai Krai, Stavropol Krai, Moscow, Vladimir, Irkutsk, Novosibirsk, Penza and Tomsk Regions generated a lot of interest among professional visitors.
Co-chairman of the Organising Committee Nikolay Gerasimenko expressed gratitude to Expocentre AO and awarded Director General of Expocentre Sergey Bednov a Letter of Acknowledgement from the Russian State Duma Committee for Health Care for his personal contribution to the Russian Health Care Week. Week Highlights
Zdravookhraneniye, Healthy Lifestyle and MedTravelExpo. Medical Clinics, Health and Spa Resorts welcomed more than 30,000 professional visitors and more than 1,000 exhibitors from all over Russia and 37 countries on the total area of 50,000 sq m to showcase all types of medical equipment and products.
National pavilions were arranged by Brazil, China, Cuba, Czechia, Germany, South Korea, and Spain.
Russian exhibitors were leading manufacturers and developers including Amico, Zagorsk Optical and Mechanical Plant, Kostromskaya Medtechnika, Kront-M, Tatchempharmpreparaty, Urals Optical and Mechanical Plant, Electron, and many others. Foreign exhibitors included such globally known companies as Kodak, Physiomed, Storz, Sàmsung, Heinemann, Mindray, Medi, Beka Hospitec, BTL, and others.
The 2nd edition of the International Exhibition MedTravelExpo 2018. Medical Clinics. Health and Spa Resorts welcomed 140 exhibitors from 19 countries. The participants included the Crimean Ministry of Resorts and Tourism, Stavropol Krai Ministry of Tourism and Health Resorts, National Medical Research Center of Cardiology of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, Clinical Hospital of the Property Management Department under the President of the Russian Federation, the National Medical Research Center for Preventive Medicine of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, National Medical Research Center for Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, Yug Sport of the Russian Ministry of Sport, National Spa Association, Anapa health resorts, a group stand of the National Spa Association, Gamma Medtechnologies, Zerts, Profkurort, Russian Medical Tourism, Top Physio Rus, MedicaTour, Yauza Medical Center, Obskie Plysy Resort, First Clinical Medical Center, Federal Research and Clinical Center of Resuscitation and Rehabilitation, and other leading medical clinics, spa centers, health resorts, etc.
Presented foreign clinics are located in Belgium, Croatia, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Greece, India, Israel, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Spain, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, the UAE, the UK, etc.
The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade organised a group showcase – PharmMedProm. Russian enterprises of the pharmaceutical, medical and rehabilitation industries showed their developments and pharmaceuticals developed within the State Program of Development of the Pharmaceutical and Medical Industry in 2013–2020.
The Made in Moscow showcase generated a lot of interest. It brought together 45 companies working in the field of treatment of cardiovascular diseases and rehabilitation after injuries and severe illnesses.
The Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions project worked on all exhibition days. It is aimed at minimizing counterfeit products showcased at exhibitions through providing consultations and clarifications regarding intellectual property, and rendering assistance in solving conflicts connected with violations of exclusive rights.
Week Events
The programme of the Russian Health Care Week included 196 events with leading Russian and foreign experts.
The 9th International Forum on Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Promotion of Healthy Lifestyle "For Healthy Life", organised by the Russian State Duma, Russian Ministry of Health Care and Expocentre AO, was opened with the Plenary Session on the Health Care National Project: Priorities.
The first edition of the Russian Congress on Immunobiological Shield of Russia was held by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade and FF Media with support of Expocentre AO. Its main topics were promotion of vaccination and the epidemiological situation in Russia.
Export of medical services is one of the most promising development trends of the Russian market. The Russian Ministry of Health Care and Expocentre AO organised the Round Table on Development of Export of Health Care Services to promote exchange of experience in this field.
Participants in the Workshop on Development Prospects of Medical Insurance in Russia called on insurance companies to expand their lines of medical insurance products taking into account demands of the majority of this country’s population.
The 9th Russian Conference on Non-Governmental Health Care: Evolution was a success. Its participants were various associations, heads of non-governmental medical facilities and private clinics of Moscow, St.-Petersburg and Nizhniy Novgorod, diversified medical and insurance companies, marketing experts and other industry professionals.
MEDITEX and Expocentre AO organised the Conference "MedTechIndustry 2018" devoted to development of the Russian markets pf medical technology, telemedicine, and other important issues of the industry.
Imperia and Expocentre AO organised the Russian Forum on Circulation of Medical Products in Russia and the Russian Conference on Relevant Issues of Today’s Medical Organisation.
The Forum "Quality Food – Healthy Nation!" was organised by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Expocentre AO.
One more important event of the Week was the 13th International Conference on the Current State and Prospects of Medical Development in High Performance Sport "SportMed 2018".
During the Week, Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted a meeting of the Club of Heads of Trade and Economic Missions (departments of embassies) of Foreign States accredited in Moscow. The meeting was devoted to international cooperation, export, support measures, investments and innovations in the health care sector. Participants included ambassadors of several countries, foreign trade representatives, and representatives of the Russian authorities and the business community. Representatives of China, Switzerland and several Russian regions made presentations on the discussed topics.
A special session, organised by the Skolkovo Foundation and Expocentre AO, was devoted to measures taken to support innovative developments in medicine. Representatives of AstraZeneka, Meditex, CryoTechnoMed and other companies talked about their cooperation with the Skolkovo Foundation in development of their startups.
Italian Senaf Srl (organiser of EXPOSANITÀ) jointly with BolognaFiere S.p.a. held the Workshop on Italian Medical Devices and Services: Market, Features and Possibilities. Expocentre AO supported the event.
The To Spain for Health workshop featured presentations of the exhibitors in the Spain National Pavilion at MedTravelExpo 2018.
MedTravelExpo 2018. Medical Clinics. Health and Spa Resorts featured the First MedTravelFest International Festival of Active Lifestyle and Health. The main aim of the festival and exhibition was to promote health resorts and medical tourism. The programme was made up for individual customers who were interested in healthy lifestyle and nutrition, fitness, and health resorts. The festival was opened by Irina Turchinskaya, a host of the Vzveshennye Lyudi (the Biggest Loser) TV show, fitness coach, author of weight loss exercises. The festival showed health resorts, diagnostic, treatment and rehabilitation centers, insurance and assistance companies, specialized mass media. Its participants were physicians, balneologists, rehabilitation therapists, leading Russian and foreign massage therapists, specialists in preventive medicine, steam rooms, and well-known athletes. The festival offered a variety of presentations, tournaments, forums, round tables, workshops and master classes.
The Congress on Health and Spa Resorts in the Public Health Care of Russia was organised by the Russian Ministry of Health Care, National Medical Research Center for Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, Moscow Research and Practical Center of Medical Rehabilitation, Restorative and Sports Medicine of the Moscow Health Care Department, National Spa Association, and Expocentre AO.
The Round Table on Development of Health and Spa Resorts as the Basis of Health Protection and Active Longevity was devoted to preservation of health of Russian citizens.
The Round Table on Patient-General Practitioner-Health Resort: Health Resort as an Integral Part of Health Care was organised by the Russian Ministry of Health Care, National Medical Research Center for Preventive Medicine of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, National Medical Research Center for Rehabilitation and Balneology of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, National Spa Association, and Expocentre AO.
The main exhibitors of MedTravelExpo 2018 were Russian resorts such as Ay-Petri, Altay-West, Anapa-Ocean, Alushta, Vita, Miskhor, Obskie Pliosy, Rus, Sakropol, Vorovsky Resort, Belokurikha, Resorts of Chechnya, Poltava-Krym, Sosnovaya Roscha, Russian Spa-Hotel, Profkurort, Saki Resort, Pirogov Saki Military Clinical Resort, Ordzhonikidze Federal Medical Center, Kirov Resort, Pskov Region Trade Unions, etc.
A special attention was paid to foreign experience and practices of promotion of Russian medical tourism in foreign markets. The round table on management of health resort tourism, the International Conference on Building up Country's Positive Image for a Patient, the workshop on bringing in and assisting foreign patients in Russia, and other important events were a success. The National Spa Association organised a series of educational workshops of the NSA Business Club.
Two educational sessions on Development of Inbound Medical Tourism in Russia and Tourism Business and Medical Tourism were organised by MedicaTour and IMTAA with support of Expocentre AO.
The main topic of the plenary meeting of the 2nd General Assembly of the World Medical Tourism Organization (WMTO) was Development of Cross-Border Cooperation in Medical Tourism. During the meeting the African joint representatives signed up for membership in WMTO. The Stavropol Krai Ministry of Tourism and Health Resorts, the Russian Guild of Managers and Developers, and the Russian Medical Tourism Association signed an agreement on cooperation. The Russian Guild of Managers and Developers and Expocentre AO organised the Conference on Health Resort Property: Looking Ahead. An expert session on redevelopment of health resort real estate also took place.
The National Spa Association, D-ZERTS, SANKUR and Expocentre held a workshop on management in the health resort industry. Health resorts from various regions of Russia held presentations of their services and facilities. It was a virtual information tour for doctors and potential patients.
The National Spa Association and the Russian Scientific Medical Society of Internal Medicine signed a cooperation agreement.
As part of the Russia-Greece Cross Year of Tourism, the Greek Tourism Organisation organised a B2B workshop and presentation of medical centres and services of Greece "Hippocrates invites you 2!".

For the first time, the Russian Health Care Week was co-located with the 17th edition of the Moscow Health Assembly, which was organised by the Moscow City Government, Moscow Department of Health Care, Health Workers Union of Moscow, and supported by Expocentre AO. This large-scale annual event brought together doctors, researchers, heads and personnel of Moscow, federal and departmental health care centres and clinics, health care professionals, and public associations. This year the assembly featured more than 90 meetings, sessions and panels with Russian and foreign presenters participating. The Territory of Modern Achievements of Moscow Health Care will show the latest medical technologies, equipment and consumables. The assembly was wrapped up with an award ceremony for the winners of 81 nominations of the best medical establishments and health care professionals.
