The Panel on Ensuring Availability of Health-Resort Therapy and Rehabilitation for People with Special Needs and Elderly People, held during Russian Health Care Week 2019 at Expocentre Fairgrounds, drew a keen interest of industry professionals. The event was organised by the Russian Ministry of Health Care, the Federal Agency for Tourism (Russia Tourism), the National Medical Research Centre for Rehabilitation and Health Resort Therapy of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, the National Spa Association, the Association of Tour Operators of Russia and Expocentre AO.

President of the National Spa Association Alexander Razumov chaired the meeting. “We have to meet European standards if we want to export medical services. Three Russian wellness resorts meet these standards today and will be included in the European register. This means insurance companies and travel agents will be sending tourists there. The first step has been taken,” said Mr. Razumov.

The panel was attended by First Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Social Policy of the Russian Federal Council Igor Kagramanyan, member of the Russian State Duma Health Care Committee Valery Yelykomov, Chief External Specialist in Health and Spa Treatment of the Russian Ministry of Health Care Mikhail Nikitin and other prominent experts.

The participants discussed availability and quality of Russian wellness resorts, as well as successes and problems seen in this area.
