Scientific and Practical Forum Russian Health Care Week 2014

From December 8 to 12, 2014 Expocentre Fairgrounds hosted the International Scientific and Practical ForumRussian Health Care Week 2014.It included aseries of international trade shows and accompanying events. A key event was the 5th International Forum on Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Healthy Lifestyle Promotion – For Healthy Life.

The Forum participants discussed implementation of national programmes for health care development. Industry specialists and doctors got acquainted with the latest achievements in the medical and pharmaceutical industries.

The Week events generated great interest among professionals and government employees. The Russian Health Care Week 2014 was organized by the State Duma of the Russian Federal Assembly, the Russian Ministry of Health Care and Expocentre ZAO. The event was supported by the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federal Assembly, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Moscow City Government, Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry,Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, andthe World Health Organization.

The Forum participants were welcomed by Russian President Vladimir Putin, Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Medvedev, Chairperson of the Council of the Federation of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation ValentinaMatvienko, Chairman of the State Duma of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation Sergey Naryshkin, First Deputy Chairman of the Council of the Federation of the Russian Federal Assembly Alexander Torshin, Deputy Prime Minister of the Russian Federation Olga Golodets, Minister of Health Care of the Russian Federation VeronikaSkvortsova, Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, Mayor of Moscow Sergey Sobyanin, First Deputy Chairman of the State Duma Committee for Health Protection of the Russian Federal AssemblyNikolayGerasimenko, Deputy Minister of Health Care of the Russian Federation Tatyana Yakovleva, President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation Sergey Katyrin, President of the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences Ivan Dedov, President of the Russian Olympic Committee Alexander Zhukov, and WHO Special Representative to the Russian Federation Dr. Luigi Migliorini.

TRADE SHOW

The Russian Health Care Week 2014, held at Expocentre Fairgrounds, included two large international trade shows: Zdravookhraneniye 2014 and Healthy Lifestyle 2014. Their total exhibition space amounted to 55 000 sq mwith participation of 1051 companiesfrom all federal districts of Russiaand 42 countries.

National pavilions were arranged by China, Cuba, the Czech Republic, Germany, India, Poland, South Korea, Taiwan, and Turkey. Cuba and India organizedtheir collective stands for the first time.

The latest developments nearly in all areas of modern medical industry were displayed by Russia’s leading manufacturers, among them Amico, Vinar, Zagorsky Optical-Mechanical Plant, KostromskayaMedtechnika, Krasnogorsk Works named after Zverev, Kront-M, LOMO, Mikromontazh, Tatchempharmpreparaty, Urals Optical & Mechanical Plant,Elektron, etc., as well as world known companies such as Philips, Toshiba, Kodak, Stormoff, MSWestfalia, Physiomed, Storz, Fujifilm, Hitachi, Sàmsung, Heinemann, Mindray, Nikon and others.

Philips was a partner of the Zdravookhraneniye 2014 international exhibition. The company put on display a complete set of innovative solutions for cardiology: from preventive health care and diagnostics to emergency care, surgical treatment and rehabilitation.

The Expocentre for Counterfeit-Free Exhibitions project,aimed to reduce the number of cases of counterfeit products displayed at the exhibition, was carried out at the Russian Health Care Week 2014Forum.

Visitor attendance at Zdravookhraneniye 2014 and Healthy Lifestyle 2014 amounted to22 378.

ACCOMPANYING EVENTS

A key event of the Russian Health Care Week 2014 was the 5th International Forum on Non-Communicable Disease Prevention and Healthy Lifestyle Promotion - For Healthy Life.

The Forum Participants considered the issues related to healthy eating as the basis for creatinga single preventive environment, ecological problems of promoting good health in humans, influence of healthy lifestyle on reproductive health and other relevant issues.

At the Russian Health Care Week 2014the Minpromtorg working group held an open meeting on expanding output of products for people with disabilities andsenior citizens ‘Sustainable Development: Hope in Technology’.

The meeting issues concerned provision of disabled people with rehabilitation products and services; development prospects and project implementation in the field of rehabilitation industry and latest technologies, and home manufacturing of rehabilitation products.

Participants in the discussion were representatives of the Council of the Federation Committee on Social Policy, State Duma Committee of Budget and Taxes of the Russian Federal Assembly, Strategic Initiative Agencies, and Department for Social Policy of the Analytical Center for the Government of the Russian Federation. They delivered their speeches on behalf of the federal executive bodies and agencies, constituent entities of Russia, public associations of people with disabilities, supporting funds, expert communities, universities, R&D institutes, manufacturing companies, including those participating in the Russian Health Care Week 2014 Forum.

The meeting of the Specialized Commission on Preventive Treatment of the Health Care Expert Council of the Russian Ministry of Health Care took place during of the Russian Health Care Week, where participants discussed the results of the Preventing a Stroke Day.

Another important event of the Week was the meeting on Development of PreventiveHealth Care System in Russia and New Challenges of Health Centres. It was held by the Ministry of Health Care of the Russian Federation and Federal State Institution ‘National Research Center for Preventive Medicine’ of the Ministry of Health Care of the Russian Federation.

One of major business related events was the Medical Products 2014Forum, organized by the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry with participation of the Russian Ministry of Health Care, Russian Union of Industrialists and Entrepreneurs, Pharmaceutical & Medical Industry Investors Club. The Forum was supported by the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade.

The main topics of the Forum were Circulation of Medical Products: the Current State and 2015 Development Prospects;Localization of Medical Products in Russia. Technological and Economic Advantages; Medical Products Purchasing; Customs Clearance of Medical Products and Technologies When Importing into the Customs Union.

The 10th Russian Forum on Circulation of Medical Products in Russia: a Year with 44-FZ (Winter Session) was carried as part of the Russian Health Care Week and the Zdravookhraneniye 2014 exhibition.

Participants in the Forum were CEOs of manufacturing companies and suppliers of medical products, MPI representatives, leading Russian purchasing experts from 25 cities and towns of Russia as well as representatives of relevant ministries: Russian Ministry of Economic Development, Federal Service on Surveillance in Health Care of the Russian Federation and General Control Directorate of the Moscow Region. The Forum was organized by Imperia Congress and Exhibition Company and Expocentre ZAO.

The 9th International Conference on the Current State and Prospects of Medical Developments in High Performance Sport ‘SportMed 2014’ ran with great success. It was organized by the Russian Ministry of Health Care, Federal Biomedical Agency, Pirogov Russian National Research Medical University, Russian Association of Sports Medicine and Rehabilitation of Sick and Disabled (RASMIRBI) and Expocentre ZAO. The conference was supported by the Russian Olympic Committee, Russian Paralympic Committee, Russian Ministry of Sport, International Federation of Sports Medicine, Federation of Sports Medicine Associations of CIS countries and Baltic States.

Delegations from Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Ukraine, and Turkmenistan participated in SportMed 2014. An extended meeting on Promotion of Physical Fitness and Sports was held by the working group on Sports Medicine Development of the Presidential Council of the Russian Federation, where participants had their talks in different sections.

Other significant events of the Russian Health Care Week 2014 were the 16th Annual Scientific Forum ‘Stomatology 2014’ -Current Issues of Orthodontics, and the 5th Conference on Non-State Health Care: Current State and Prospects.

Conference on Exploring News Ways: Progress of Cuban Health for Russian Market, organized by the Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Cuba and Expocentre ZAO, sparked a great professional interest.

Specialist of the International Relations Department of the Cuban Chamber of Commerce Ileana PerníaÁlvarez and Area Directorof Cuban Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology in Eastern Europe and other countries Carmen Acosta welcomed the conference participants.

Cuban speakers shared their best practices and findings about oncology, achievements in early diagnosis, treatmentfor cancer,vitiligo, psoriasis, and other diseases. Most participants and organizers of the conference think that it will promote development of relations between Cuba and Russia in health care, closer cooperation on scientific research, and facilitate exchange of experience and increasein turnover between our countries.

There also ran the 12th Conference on Innovative Technologies of Quantum Medicine - Medicine of the 21st Century and 2nd Russian Congress on Complementary Medicine, round table discussions and seminars.
