SCO, BRICS and EEU health care professionals discuss complementary medicine

The Russian Health Care Week 2015 hosted a joint meeting of the 3rd Russian Congress on Complementary Medicine and the 1st Congress on Traditional Medicine of the SCO, BRICS and EEU Countries. The event was organized by the Russian Professional Medical Association of Traditional and Folk Medicine, the National Medical Chamber, and Expocentre ZAO with the support of the Russian State Duma Committee on Health Care.

At the opening ceremony Chairman of the Congresses Organizing Committee and President of the Russian Professional Medical Association of Traditional and Folk Medicine Vladimir Egorov said that the goal of the congresses was to demonstrate how the traditional medicine and wellness practices help to restore health and maintain life quality. The congresses create platforms to promote projects of the SCO, BRICS and EEU countries in the sphere of medical education and practical health care to work out the best means of integration of complementary medicine into national health care systems.

Chinese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Li Hui addressed the meeting. “I am positive that this congress will promote contacts and cooperation in the traditional medicine between our countries as well as bring new energy into the development of traditional medicine. The Chinese traditional medicine is many centuries old. I would like it to be beneficial to the people of the SCO, BRICS and EEU countries,” said Mr Hui.

Over two days the congress participants will discuss specific issues of the complementary medicine, demonstrate the best traditional and proprietary medicine to attract attention of the population and national health care systems of the SCO, BRICS and EEU countries to how the traditional medicine and wellness practices help to restore health and maintain life quality.
