On behalf of the Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade I welcome the participants and visitors to Zdravookhraneniye’2009, the 19th International Exhibition for Health Care, Medical Engineering and Pharmaceuticals.
Today we are faced with the challenging task of supporting Russia’s innovation-based development in the current economic and financial conditions. Successful task achievement will allow both preserving the industry’s scientific and production potential, and laying a foundation for a sustainable growth of the medical and pharmaceutical industries for the following decades.
One of the Ministry’s priority activities is to foster continued material and technical support for the national health care system. This presupposes that there is an integrated approach to creating a good legal and economic basis for the development of the national medical and pharmaceutical industries.
The Russian President has initiated the elaboration of important forward looking medical and pharmaceutical projects. This provides evidence of the government interest in the industry growth.
The Ministry encourages developing cooperation between Russian and overseas companies in the sphere of high-tech manufacture of medical products.
The Zdravookhraneniye International Exhibition is a highly efficient platform for government agencies, medical institutions, manufactures and suppliers of medical products and pharmaceuticals to network and cooperate.
I am positive that in the current economic conditions Zdravookhraneniye’2009 will be beneficial to both exhibitors and visitors. It will contribute to upgrading domestic medical facilities, thus enhancing the quality of medical service in Russia.
